At Microsoft, I was a Product Manager working on Azure DevOps leading the design and feature development of an engineering team of 13 software engineers in Agile project management for Azure DevOps, a DevOps/Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) SaaS running on Microsoft Azure.
I was responsible for increasing engagement in the platform, and took a specific focus on optimizing social features. While I was a Product Manager there, I had to wear a lot of hats such a research (conducting user research studies and analyzing results), design (building low fidelity mocks), and program manager (managing the sprints for the engineering teams).
Creating a social coding platform
This feature was built to modernize the collaborative text editing experience to decrease barriers for developers to get their work done. We had a legacy text editor that caused very high customer dissatisfaction, directly correlated to our lowering NPS (Net Promoter Score). It was clear we needed to bring a more modern text editor that would not get in the way of what development teams needed to accomplish every day.
In order to figure out which feature to build next, I leveraged our 30.2K large social media community to help make a data driven decision in the absence of data. This helped inform which areas of our engaged community were most excited about.
Another one of the features enabled was allowing customers to edit and delete their comments on their discussions. This was a feature customers have been asking for since 2012, and was necessary to complete in order to even stay relevant in the agile work tracking tool space.
